Can You Spare a Seat to Petoskey?
I actually need a seat to Detroit, MI. I’m in the SFO (San Francisco) airport waiting to see if I can get on the red-eye to Detroit (DTW) and then into Traverse City (TVC). Heading up to Petoskey for my third visit this year.
Bring on the winter weather! I’m trying to get myself ass deep in snow with at least a -20 wind chill so I can see if the winter will scare me away from moving to this gem of a town. How bad can it get? I lived in Park City Utah for 13 years at 7000 feet elevation – 10 to 15 feet of snow a year and pretty frosty at times.
Holiday travel loads are in effect and with the bad weather on the East Coast, flights are already canceling heading to that coast.
This spells trouble for the big Midwest airports as anxious travelers attempt to make their way east in hopes of shortening the last leg of the flight when the weather improves and airports open.
I’ll know in about 30 minutes whether or not I’m going to get on the DTW flight. If not, I’ll try to get to Cincinnati or Minneapolis and then try to hop, skip and jump into TVC… Maybe this is going to be my own personal Planes, Trains and Automobiles adventure!
